14 DAY TRIAL // Last year at CES 2014, all the spotlight was on Samsung which had a lot to show to the world. The Korean tech giant introduced the productivity-driven Galaxy TabPRO and NotePRO tablets, making a big fuss about their advanced specifications and features (such as multi-tasking).
Anyway, in the last few months things have been pretty quiet in the Samsung tablet department. The company rolled out the Galaxy Tab Active at IFA 2014, and we were hoping to see a Galaxy Note 8.4-inch model get introduced at CES 2015, but that didn't happen.
Samsung will soon re-new its tablet portfolio
Well, it appears that Samsung is looking to bounce back, tablet-wise. According to a report coming from Sam Mobile the device maker is actively working to bring to the market the next-gen Galaxy TabPRO and NotePRO models.
It’s been a year since the original models were rolled out into the wild, so it’s high-time Samsung offered a refresh.
Samsung apparently has quite a few new models in the pipeline, including Galaxy Tab AS (SM-T350), Galaxy Tab AS (SM-T351), Galaxy Tab AL (SM-T550), Galaxy Tab AL (SM-T551), Galaxy Tab AL Plus (SM-P550), Galaxy Tab AL Plus (SM-P551), Galaxy Tab AS Plus (SM-P350), Galaxy Tab AS Plus (SM-P351).
Looking at these tablets’ model numbers, we could speculate that the Galaxy Tab AS might turn out to be the successors of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 family, while the Galaxy Tab AL will replace either the 8-inch or the 10.1-inch models of the Galaxy Tab 4.
As for the Plus models, these are most likely new versions of the Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO bunch, although we can’t be 100% sure at this point.
Another possibility is that these tablets are actually new models of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Tab S 10.5 tablets, which are Samsung’s AMOLED tablet bunch. But given the fact that the models were introduced this summer, the scenario where Sammy is looking to refresh the TabPRO/NotePRO lineup seems more likely.
