Samsung might not have had a great 2014, as more and more customers shied away from its products, but even so, the Korean tech giant has some sweethearts that have always gained the attention of the public.

We’re talking about the Galaxy Note series which extends to smartphones and tablets. Before CES 2015 started in Las Vegas back in January, we told you of a rumor which claimed Samsung was looking to introduce a Galaxy Note 8.4 (2015) model at the event, and many of our readers got really excited about the idea.

Sadly, we didn't see any tablet, but that doesn't mean Samsung fans have lost their hope of seeing their favorite company roll out a new S Pen-enabled tablet with a more functional form factor.

The company is currently offering the massive 12.2-inch Galaxy Note PRO 12.2, which is actually aimed at business users and requires a keyboard companion to achieve best usage. Moreover, yesterday we told you Sammy hosted an event in Russia where it pulled the veil off the Galaxy Tab A tablet which we heard of prior to the event.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A has a S Pen version

The tablet will be offered in 8-inch and 9.7-inch variations and is nothing to fret about, really. The slate is said to bundle 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, a Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz (probably a Snapdragon 410, but the company hasn’t said exactly), 4G connectivity and 5MP/2MP camera combo.

There are also 16GB of internal storage plus microSD card for memory expansion up to 128GB. Samsung has left out the part related to RAM, but we guess the tablet will ship out with 1GB or so.

Besides that, it appears that in Netherlands, Samsung will be offering a variation of the 9.7-inch tablet with the much craved S Pen functionality.

So users will be able to scribble and write down notes using the pre-installed S Note application. The tablet will also come equipped with Kids Mode, a platform designed for the little ones to learn how to draw, play music or click images. The app is very safe to use and will prevent accidental kiddie mistakes like deleting important data.

Apparently, Samsung has done a lot of research to see what people actually want from its tablets, and it turns out they want a platform for browsing and reading. Oh, and they want that S Pen function too. So Samsung is delivering what was asked of it.

The Galaxy Tab A with S Pen and 16GB of internal storage (Wi-Fi variant) will be available in Netherlands this May for €349 / $370 a pop.
