Many would say that this is the same camera Samsung included in the Galaxy S5, but the South Korean company insists that the new module benefits from improved lens and much better processing software.
Thanks to its f1.9 aperture size, Samsung Galaxy S6's main camera takes better pictures in low-light conditions, but it will also allow for better focus options and effects.
The 16-megapixel rear-facing cameras inside Samsung flagships benefit from OIS (optical image stabilization), as well as other interesting features like HDR, selective focus, LED flash and 4K video recording.
Another neat feature announced by Samsung is the fast access command that can be used when you want to quickly open the camera to take a picture.
According to Samsung, those who own the Galaxy S6 or the Edge can double tap on the home button and the camera app should open in less than 1 second.
The pictures look amazing, but they might be just a marketing move
In order to highlight the quality of its 16-megapixel camera embedded in the Galaxy S6 smartphones, Samsung has now released several photos taken with these devices.
They look no short of impressive, though Galaxy S6 will pass the test only after the first reviews emerge online. Until then, let's tag this as a marketing move.
On a side note, apart from the improvement of the Galaxy S6's main camera, Samsung also added a better 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The secondary camera can record full HD (1080p) videos and take great selfies as well.
