Earlier this month, the results of a survey conducted in Poland popped up online, showing us that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 proved to have the best cameras.

Folks involved in the study were given select flagships (including LG G3, Nokia Lumia 1020 or HTC One M8) and sent around Morocco to snap photographs with the handsets.

The results were then showed off to professional photographers who were asked to rank them from best to worst. And the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 turned out to have one of the best cameras a smartphone could hope to have.

It appears Samsung is continuing the saga of providing worthy cameras to its flagships with the new Galaxy S6 Edge handset.

Now, the new Galaxy S6 Edge camera gets compared to iPhone 6 Plus

Since the iPhone holds the reputation of having one of the best mobile device snappers out there, you’re probably wondering how Samsung’s new babies perform against them?

Well, the folks over at Mobilsiden took both the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and iPhone 6 Plus for a ride around town and snapped a bunch of comparison photos.

The edgier Galaxy S6 arrives with a 16MP frontal camera on board, and as you can see by yourself in the gallery, the snapper is capable of outperforming the sensor inside the iPhone 6 Plus.

The Galaxy S6 Edge offers much better low-light performance and shoots in better resolution, dynamic range and bokeh than the iPhone 6 Plus. It also offers much better video resolution.

However, Apple’s flagship is on par with the new Samsung model in terms of focus speed and color reproduction. The iPhone 6 Plus can record 240 fps slow motion video, which is a plus.

Samsung is still perfecting the camera software inside the Galaxy S6 Edge

Even so, Samsung told Mobilsiden that the camera software that they tested isn’t the final one, so the retail-friendly units of the Galaxy S6 Edge will probably ship with enhanced software.

You can go ahead and take a look at the gallery below to see how the two smartphones performed. The iPhone 6 Plus images are displayed on top, while those taken with the Galaxy S6 Edge are right below. The resolution on the images has been set to 12MP. In some cases, 100% crop was performed to show the quality of the image.

There are also two videos, one of the iPhone 6 Plus shooting in full HD and one of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge performing in 4K. .
