Samsung made a huge splash at MWC 2015 with its latest flagship products, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and the initial feedback has been a positive one.

Samsung is particularly proud of its Galaxy S6 Edge handset and the interest it spiked on the ground at the event, which hopefully will translate into real life sales.

The Galaxy Note Edge model that launched last year was perceived as a niche product, as voices raised concerns related to the functionality of the curved display located on the side.

As it turns out, the handset didn't prove to be all that popular, something that probably had to do with its high price tag too.

But Samsung is really pleased with the initial reaction generated by the unveiling of the Galaxy S6 Edge, so much so that they are already thinking towards future products.

Expect more products with dual-edge displays from Samsung in the future

While talking to the Korean Herald, the company’s Mobile Chief Shin Jong-kyun has admitted that even though the edge display technology is still in its infancy, Sammy is willing to share the SKDs (software development kit) and APIs (application programing interface) to encourage developers to start working on edge-friendly applications.

So the company has big plans and hopes for the atypical edged display technology. As hinted by Sammy’s executive vice president of product strategy team, Roh Tae-moon, who spoke at Barcelona, the Korean behemoth is thinking of implementing the edged display on the upcoming Galaxy Note model.

Sure, the first Galaxy Note Edge wasn't what Samsung hoped for, but given the positive reaction to the Galaxy S6 Edge, which even managed to outshine the flat Galaxy S6 during the event, the company believes there is a future for this technology.

As we told you yesterday, Samsung expects its Galaxy S6 models to outsell the company’s best-selling phone to date, the Galaxy S4. It remains to be seen whether these expectations ferret out for the best or not.

A few months ago, we showed you one of the first Samsung Galaxy Note 5 concepts, which imagined a flagship Note model with dual-curved edges.

Since there’s a high possibility that Samsung will implement a dual-edged display on its upcoming top-tier smartphone, take a few seconds to browse through the gallery to get an idea of what the Galaxy Note 5 might look like when it comes out later in 2015.
