With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones being out and about for quite some time, everyone has turned its attention towards Samsung’s next premium flagship, the Galaxy Note 5.

We’ve been telling you that, at some point, a rumor said that this year Samsung might be looking to introduce the smartphone as early as July.

Samsung usually unveils new Galaxy Note phablets in September at the IFA 2015 tradeshow in Berlin, but this year, we’ve heard that the company wants to be prepared for when Apple unveils its next-gen iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus handsets. The Cupertino tech giant is poised to have at least two new phones out by September’s end, so it was speculated that Samsung wanted its phablet to be out and about before that.

However, following this report, Samsung’s J.K Shin stepped forth and refuted claims that the Galaxy Note 5 would be launched as early as July, leading us to believe that the handset is headed for IFA 2015 after all.

When is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 coming?

Now, a new report coming out of Taiwan seems to push further the idea that the Galaxy Note 5 will indeed be coming earlier. According to the new info, the phone won’t be unveiled in July, but in August (as seen at G for Games).

We’re told that Samsung has already entered negotiations with Taiwanese carriers, which means the company is engaged in similar talks with international service providers as well.

It might be possible that Samsung will end up unveiling the Galaxy Note 5 earlier only to showcase it in flesh and bones at IFA 2015 like it usually does. This will ensure people get familiar with the new phablet before Apple’s new efforts come dancing into the world.

If you haven’t been following the news related to the Galaxy Note 5 so far, we’re taking the opportunity to remind you that the phablet is poised to arrive with a 5.7-inch QHD display, an Exynos 7422 processor under the hood, USB Type-C connector, UFS 2.0 Flash storage, and a 4,100 mAh battery to sustain life on board.

Furthermore, the most recent info suggests that Samsung plans to implement an S Pen auto-eject feature into the phablet, which will allow the stylus to snap out of its socket when needed.
