14 DAY TRIAL // E! has been covering all major award shows for years, particularly the red carpet ceremony. More recently, they included the so-called Mani Cams or the Glam Cam and even a stiletto cam in the “tradition” of dissecting a red carpet outfit down to the minimum.
Of course, all these apply only to the ladies, which prompted several biting comments in recent years, most notably from Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Garner. This year, several A-listers put up a united front against the Mani Cam, which is like an oblong box with a mini-red carpet, in which one must “parade” the hand so that viewers at home can get a proper look at the manicure and the diamond jewelry.
Giuliana Rancic, who usually interviews celebrities at major events like the SAG Awards 2015 last night, was not there, but Maria Menounous tried to fill in for her. She was left quite flustered when several A-listers flat-out refused to do the Mani Cam.
These included Jennifer Aniston (video below) and Julianne Moore. Reese Witherspoon refused to take part in this stupid tradition, but she was less direct about it, as also did Emilia Clark. Tatiana Maslany refused too, but she claimed she didn’t want to because she did not have the time to get a manicure.
Video of Julianne, who would become one of the SAG winners later that evening, flat-out refusing to do the Mani Cam is available at AOL. She seemed displeased to be asked that, so no wonder she didn’t beat about the bush about not wanting to do it.
