Last night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015, showbiz honored a true Hollywood icon with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Debbie Reynolds. She was presented with the award by none other than her daughter Carrie Fisher, and the moment was one of the gala’s funniest and most touching.

You can see it in full in the video below.

Carrie took to the stage to say a few words about the night’s big honoree, who was “occasionally” her mother as well, and to intro the collage that highlighted a career that spanned over 6 decades and included anything from acting in comedies and dramas, to singing and dancing.

Reynolds was welcomed to the stage to collect the award with a standing ovation (and I’m positive I saw certain celebrities with tears in their eyes, like Julianne Moore), and in between saying that “Singin’ in the Rain” and “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” were her favorite movies ever, she also revealed that she’d warned her daughter Carrie not to agree to don any funky hairdos for a movie.

She still ended up with two silly buns, she laughed, referring to Carrie’s famous turn as Princess Leia in “Star Wars,” as her daughter feigned trying to hide behind her mother’s SAG statuette.

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher should be up on stage together more often at award shows, because they’re hilarious. Check it out.
