Insomniac shows the weird aspects of their title

The development team at Insomniac Games and publisher Microsoft promised a live action trailer for their upcoming Sunset Overdrive last week and the video is now out, but as with a lot of other elements associated with the shooter, it does not conform to the expectations of gamers.

The footage is designed to be an ironic take on the live action trailer concept and features highly produced visuals that prove how hard it is to show fans the complexity of the game without using in-game images.

The two companies state, "If there’s ever been a game that couldn’t be translated into a live-action trailer, Sunset Overdrive is that game. With its unique blend of hyper agility and inventive weaponized destruction, Sunset Overdrive is the one game that would be disastrous to attempt to make real."

Sunset Overdrive will be launched on October 28 of this year and can be played only on the Xbox One.

The Insomniac Games title is focused on fast movement and over-the-top weapons that will allow gamers to take out a range of enemies in a post-apocalyptic world that's filled with color and fun rather than bleak realities and scavenged equipment.

Microsoft is making the game one of the core launches of this fall and has long-term plans to support it.
