After a bit of teasing, developer Undead Labs confirms that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition is going to debut on April 28 for the PC and Xbox One platforms, bringing forth remastered visuals, lots of content, and even a price cut for existing owners of the Xbox 360 version of the game.

State of Decay launched quite some time ago on the PC and Xbox 360 platforms, and generated a cult-like following thanks to its impressive gameplay, not to mention its great support from independent developer Undead Labs, which rolled out quite a few different free updates and premium expansions.

After it got acquired by Microsoft, the studio started working on an Xbox One version of the game, as well as a re-release on the PC, in the form of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, which got confirmed last year.

A release date is finally available

Unfortunately, not much else has been known since then but now the studio has made an official confirmation to IGN, saying that the long-awaited title is coming out on April 28 in North America and in early May for other parts of the world.

The game is going to cost 30 USD/EUR as standard, but those who got it originally on the Xbox 360 will be able to purchase it for 20 USD/EUR. They'll also get a special character with a unique weapon to better resist the undead horde.

Unfortunately, it seems that PC owners won't enjoy a similar deal, as they'll just have to repurchase it at full price.

You can expect to hear more about the new version of the game in the following months, which includes both the Breakdown and the Lifeline expansions, as we get closer to its late April debut.
