14 DAY TRIAL // State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, the upcoming remastered version of the zombie survival game for PC and Xbox One, has just received a set of fresh screenshots, not to mention details about a special Day One Edition that comes with a wide array of bonus goodies, from a new car to a gun and a melee weapon.
State of Decay launched quite some time ago across the PC and Xbox 360 consoles, bringing forth an interesting survival experience that focused on dealing with the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The key aspect was that, upon the inevitable death, you just got another character from your camp to control and try to keep alive.
After the game's success, Microsoft acquired developer Undead Labs and tasked it with creating a State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, which is currently set to debut in late April for the PC as well as the Xbox One platforms.
The game has a special Day One Edition
Now, in a new Xbox Wire announcement, Undead Labs confirms that those who pre-order the game or buy it in its launch period will receive the Day One Edition, which comes with three big bonuses for the actual title.
First up, players will be met inside the game with the SKS Firearm, a Soviet-era semi-automatic carbine that's modded with a grenade launcher, in case you fight against hordes of undead. They'll also get a folding axe melee weapon that's light, portable, and durable for extended zombie fights. Last but not least, they'll also get the Prepper SUV car that's equipped with a reinforced chassis as well as plenty of storage for your gear.
Besides presenting the special edition of the game, the studio has also presented a series of fresh images from State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition on the Xbox One, depicting some of the different adventures that await those who get it on April 28, worldwide, for the PC or the Microsoft console.
