Disney, Lucasfilm, and Twentieth Century Fox have announced that they are planning to launch a new Star Wars Digital Movie Collection, which allows gamers to get access to the six movies already launched in the franchise with a range of new content.

Microsoft is announcing that it has partnered with the companies to become a digital distribution launch partner and that it will be introducing exclusive content for all those who get the package on the Xbox One or the Xbox 360.

Gamers can pre-order Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and watch them on April 10.

Gamers who place an order will be able to get R2-D2, one of the emblematic droids of the franchise, as an avatar companion, with all the classic moves from the movies.

The second incentive for purchase is the Star Wars Pinball Pack, which will be delivered for free on the Xbox One or the 360.

Microsoft also says that Disney is adding a Star Wars feature for all purchasers, a 60-second-long sneak peek.

Star Wars is getting a big video game release this year

The big moment of 2015 for fans of the science-fiction franchise is the launch of The Force Awakens, but the video game world is also getting ready for some more content related to it.

Video game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are working on a new Star Wars Battlefront title, which is supposed to arrive in the fall.

One rumor is suggesting that launch will take place on December 10, but the date has not been confirmed yet.

The development team has not yet offered too many details about the title and a first official trailer is set to be revealed on April 17 during a big Star Wars event.

Rumors are saying that the game will cover a wide range of big battles from the history of the series, with limited content linked to The Force Awakens.

A new Hero system is apparently being designed by DICE to allow gamers to spend points in order to become a powerful Sith or Jedi at certain points.
