The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have already announced that they will be offering more information on the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront during the coming Star Wars Celebration event, and the two companies are now saying that they are planning to deliver the first trailer for the title at 10:30 AM Pacific Time on April 17.

The reveal will come during an official panel about the title which will feature members of the studio offering details about their aims for the experience and the way they are trying to create a new take on some classic mechanics.

All those who will be attending the Star Wars Celebration will be able to take a look at gameplay taken from Star Wars: Battlefront behind closed doors, but it seems that the company does not plan to release it to the general public.

The two companies add, "Not going to the show? We know fans of Star Wars Battlefront span the entire globe, so we definitely do not want to leave you out in the cold without a tauntaun. Make sure to watch our official EA Star Wars channels and website during the show."

DICE and Electronic Arts are not saying whether the trailer is entirely live action or whether there are also plans to include some actual in-engine footage.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be launched later during the year

The new title is designed to introduce the classic mechanics of the series to an entirely new audience, which might be tempted to play the experience after seeing the new The Force Awakens movies in cinemas.

DICE has said that it will appeal to long-term fans, while also adding entirely new ideas.

It seems that a Hero system will allow gamers to store up a game currency and then spend it in order to become a Jedi or a Sith for a period of time, getting access to a new set of powers that will make them a big threat in all game modes.

Rumors are also saying that Star Wars: Battlefront is designed to cover the entire history of the franchise and will include a large variety of weapons and vehicles, including some entirely new ones.

DICE and Electronic Arts have not so far confirmed any of the information, which makes it all the more exciting to see what they will reveal at 10:30 AM on April 17.
