Electronic Arts and developer DICE have just started offering some actual gameplay details about the new Star Wars Battlefront experience, this time talking about its visuals, how it targets a 60fps framerate on PS4 and Xbox One, and how its multiplayer will include many maps and modes.

Star Wars Battlefront was presented to the world quite some time ago, and while work on the sci-fi shooter progressed quite well, neither publisher EA nor developer DICE has talked about it until recently.

The game got its proper presentation yesterday, alongside a stellar gameplay video filled with all sorts of impressive sequences.

Now, DICE's Niklas Fegraeus answers fan questions on Twitter and confirms a variety of interesting details about Star Wars Battlefront, going in-depth with the gameplay, visuals, and more.

Battlefront features extensive multiplayer and single-player content

First up, Fegraeus confirms that Battlefront is going to include four iconic planets with 8+ maps that range from large to small and cater to various multiplayer modes. The confirmed planets are Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust, a previously unexplored environment. Jakkon is going to join the roster as a free DLC after launch.

While the game doesn’t have a concrete single-player story campaign, DICE mentions that there is a Missions mode that can be played alone, cooperatively with bots or friends. You can play via local split-screen or online co-op, but don't expect any competitive multiplayer split-screen action.

Players will be able to control various Star Wars heroes and villains, but so far, only Darth Vader and Boba Fett have been confirmed. They'll work in different ways, depending on the mode, according to the developer. While controlling regular soldiers, players can freely switch between first and third-person perspectives.

Last but not least, DICE mentions that, on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, Star Wars Battlefront targets a 60fps framerate while achieving visuals just like those seen in the gameplay video.

The actual game launches on November 17, in North America, November 19, in Europe and the rest of the world for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
