14 DAY TRIAL // Robin Thicke spent almost a year trying to get longtime wife Paula Patton to reconsider her decision to divorce him, which materialized in an entire album dedicated to her (called “Paula,” of course), but now that she filed the papers, he’s quick to move on.
For the past couple of months, if not for longer than that actually, Thicke has been dating a gorgeous model named April Love Geary, who is only 19 years old. For context, the singer is 37, but what’s an age gap in the way of true love, right?
New photos emerged online confirm the theory that the relationship is already “serious” because she’s met and spent time with his 4-year-old son with Paula, Julien.
Robin moves on, confirms Hollywood myth of “younger is always better”
Paula and Robin were highschool sweethearts and apparently one of the most solid marriages in showbiz. For years, rumors claimed that the reason they were so “solid” was that they maintained an open marriage, or at the very least, because she was willing to turn a blind eye to his wandering ways.
That ended last year, when she dumped him following countless reports that he had cheated on her with a variety of women across the globe, when he was supposed to be promoting his music. Talk of alcohol and substance abuse also picked up.
It took Paula 8 full months to finally muster the strength to file the divorce papers, but by the time she did, she was said to be already dating a new man, who had moved into her house just weeks before. At about the same time, Robin gave up all hope of ever winning her back and got himself a new girlfriend too.
There is some speculation that he met the young April at Leonardo DiCaprio’s model-packed 40th birthday party, but whichever the case, there’s no denying that he seems to be living by the Hollywood motto that “younger is always better.”
April spilled the beans on Instagram
Thicke’s new romantic interest could have been kept a secret for a while longer if April hadn’t spilled the beans on social media. As the photos in the gallery below can confirm, in early October, she was posting photos on Instagram from inside his house and his bed. The pics have been deleted from her account since.
Then, she was also spotted out and about town with Thicke, to the point where their romance became an open secret. In the video below, she insists that they’re just “friends,” but there’s something about her smile when she says it that makes you believe that’s not true.
She makes it look like she’s denying it because she was instructed to say that, but she’s dying to break the news.
April is already bonding with Thicke’s son
If things really are as serious as new photos indicate, she has every reason to smile like the cat that got the cream: Thicke believes that the relationship is serious enough to introduce her to his son.
The two were at a football game over the weekend, watching the USC Trojans playing against UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. They tried to fly under the radar, but there are at least 2 blurry photos showing they attended as a couple – and Julien was there too.
A short while ago, one report claimed that Paula didn’t trust Robin enough to have him around Julien without her supervision. It could be that his inclination towards basically teenage models had something to do with that.
