14 DAY TRIAL // Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has received not just a beta update on PC to add the cooperative mode, but also its second episode and a public patch that should fix some of the other issues reported by users on the PC platform.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is the next entry in the series made by Capcom, and for the first time in the history of the survival horror franchise, it's being delivered to fans through four different episodes that launch on a weekly basis.
Episode 1 rolled out last week, and while it delivered a pretty good experience, it caused quite an uproar on the PC platform as it lacked any sort of cooperative mode, despite initially promising such a feature.
A few hours ago a special beta update was rolled out through the Steam service for Revelations 2 that adds the local co-op mechanic but doesn't guarantee perfect functionality as more work is still needed.
Episode 2 and a regular PC patch are also available
Now, the second episode for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is now available for download across all platforms, i.e. PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
The next chapter in the saga continues the adventures of the two main groups, composed of Claire and Moira, and Barry and Natalia. According to Capcom's official blog, the episode will take the story to new heights and introduce quite a few interesting twists about the spooky island on which the two groups of survivors are located.
Besides the second chapter of Revelations 2, PC players can also download a brand-new public patch for the game that's separate from the split-screen local co-op beta update. This one takes Revelations 2 to version 1.0.1 and adds a few different tweaks to the rendering system, turns off the mouse cursor when a controller is used, and actually fixes the Shadow quality setting. Apparently, setting the shadows to high actually turned them to low, while selecting low made them output in high quality.
