One of the most beloved games in the Resident Evil franchise is about to get an HD remaster in less than two weeks. The original Resident Evil will be enhanced with visual improvements, developer and publisher Capcom announced about six months ago.

Three weeks ago, Resident Evil HD Remaster went on pre-order on PlayStation Network (PSN) in North America, but Xbox fans had to wait until this week to be offered the option to pre-purchase the game.

The 1998 game is now available in an enhanced form on Xbox Live for only $19.99, the same price that the PlayStation version has be tagged with.

However, those who pre-order Resident Evil HD Remaster on Sony’s console will be getting it on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles.

The offer will expire the moment the game is released, so those who want to own the game on both consoles may want to take advantage of this pre-order bonus.

There are no pre-order bonuses for Xbox One owners

The cross-buy offer does not seem to be available for Xbox owners as well, which means you will have to pay for one or the other. The good news is the Xbox One version of Resident Evil HD Remaster is available for pre-order for the same price, $19.99, via Xbox Live.

In case the game becomes available for download earlier than its release date, those who pre-order it will be able to download it. However, it won’t be playable until launch day, January 20, 12:01 AM PDT / 3:01AM EST.

In the same piece of news, Resident Evil HD Remaster has yet to be available for pre-order on the European PS Store. At least, in the UK it doesn’t show yet. Hopefully, Capcom will make it available in the next couple of days, so that players can take advantage of the cross-buy promo offer.
