The game is a reimagining of the classic Dungeon Keeper

Developer Realmforge and publisher Kalypso Media announce that Dungeons 2 is coming to Windows PC, Mac OS X and SteamOS on April 24, 2015.

The game is the sequel to 2011's Dungeons, a fantasy dungeon management game inspired by Bullfrog's legendary Dungeon Keeper. The original is still considered to be a masterpiece of the genre, and there hasn't been any proper follow-up to it yet.

Publisher Electronic Arts' latest entry in the series was a horrible mobile game that had no respect for the source material and ended up as one of the most reviled video games released of 2014, nothing more than a beggar for the player's spare change, offering nothing but more waiting in return.

In any case, Dungeons wasn't that great either, having a ton of technical issues and being too limited in scope, but developer Realmforge promised to improve the experience by a rather large factor.

Granted, it's not hard to come up with something better than EA's scam, but the game still needs to hold up to scrutiny.

The game has a ton of potential

Dungeons 2 comes with a slew of new features, including taking direct control of minions, slapping them in order to make them work faster, and two new factions to control.

One of the most fun aspects of the original Dungeon Keepar was mining whole acres of dungeon and laying out the plans of your dungeon, and it seems like Dungeons 2 is poised to let us fight humanity once more.

Judging from the gameplay trailer released by the publisher, available below, Dungeons 2 might just be the reimagining of Dungeon Keeper we've been waiting for all this time.

Furthermore, Dungeons 2 is also shipping with a competitive multiplayer mode support up to four people at the same time, so get your mischievous friends ready for April 24.
