The Doctor strange role is slowly turning into one of the most debated and most elusive roles in the Marvel universe. The fact that casting rumors for this particular role have been going on since last year doesn't seem to have sped up the casting process at all and the media is still clueless as to whom will eventually play the Sorcerer Supreme.

Every week, a new name is added to the list of actors who might play Dr. Strange in the first movie adaptation of the comic book character. This week, the newest name on that list is Ryan Gosling.

While female fans might be gushing at the moment, thinking about the appealing circumstance of seeing Ryan gosling playing a superhero in tights, the Hollywood Reporter claims that the actor is now in negotiations with Disney and Marvel to play the part of the good Doctor.

The actor seems to have taken time out of his busy schedule as a new daddy, since his girlfriend Eva Mendes has recently given birth to their first baby daughter. Though at the beginning of 2013 he announced that he was taking a break from acting and focusing on directorial work, lukewarm reviews of his movie “Lost River” have sent him back to what he's actually good at.

This isn't the first time that a comic book company has reached out to Ryan. You probably may not know this, but Ryan was initially billed to star in the first Green Lantern movie rom DC Comics, but he bowed out of the project when the studio kept pushing him to make several sequels.

The role finally went to Ryan Reynolds, but the movie was a box office flop, which is why DC Comics now plans to reboot it in 2020.

Update: the article was corrected to attribute the Green Lantern character to DC Comics
