Have you ever heard the expression “a meal fit for a king?” Well, Prince William may not yet be king just yet, though he is headed in that direction, but the price people have to pay in order to sit down for a dinner with him and his lovely wife sure is kingly.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are headed over to the United States in December and their schedule is already packed full of events, as the royals want to get as much done during that time as possible.

Last week, we reported that the couple was planning on catching a basketball game in New Work. This week, The Sunday Times claims that the royals also plan on organizing a fundraiser for their alma matter, the St. Andrews University in New York.

The event is going to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan on December 9, and according to the source, a table for 10 people is going to cost $100,000 (€80,662). In the price, you'll get a fancy dinner and a chance to see William and Kate in the flesh thanks to some VIP passes.

The Buckingham Palace is keen on building relations with the Americans and they are sending over their best asset in terms of public relations. It's a known fact that Kate Middleton is currently 5 months pregnant with her second child, so there's bound to be a decent crowd showing up that will be there just to be able to get a glimpse of her baby bump.

The organizers are hoping many will attend thanks to the royals' popularity

The fascination with the royals extends across the Atlantic when it comes to Kate and William, who are superstars in terms of celebrity in their own country.

In all, Kate and her husband William are going to spend 3 days in the United States and their visit will include some solo activities. William is going to attend the anti-corruption conference at the World Bank in Washington D.C. on his own, whereas Kate is going to visit a local development center with the First Lady in New York.

The couple is going to be in New York City for at least a day, which means that they are definitely going to visit the 9/11 Museum, as well as the World Trade Center Memorial. The most closely followed part of their visit is surely going to be the basketball game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets, that they plan on attending in Brooklyn.

This is historical event as no other royal has ever witnessed an NBA game. The Prince wanted to watch the game at the legendary Madison Square Garden but later opted to watch a game in Brooklyn, just so he could see LeBron James, the most famous basketball player today, in a live game.
