Brian Michael Bendis, the creator of the Powers concept who currently also serves as an executive producer on the show based on it, is ready to announce that the series, which will consist of 10 full episodes, is at the moment set to be launched on the PlayStation Network on March 10.

The official PS Blog reveal says that “Under the skillful hands of our showrunners Charlie Huston and Remi Aubuchon, our amazing directors, writers, cast and crew, the episodes are coming together beautifully.”

On March 10, all those who have access to the PlayStation Store will be able to get access to the first three episodes of Powers at the same time and another new installment will be delivered every Tuesday.

The entire run of the show will be offered for free to those who have a subscription to PlayStation Plus and one free episode will be offered to all other users to show them the level of quality of the entire series.

Bendis adds, “For those of you looking to get a head start into the POWERS universe, this Wednesday, January 21st at your local comic book store or at comixology.com you can pick up a brand-new Powers number one…its double-sized story for the regular price. This is a perfect place for new readers and old to hop on board the world of Powers.”

The comic book creator also reveals that he is a GTA V player that other PlayStation 4 fans can meet in the Online mode.

Current-gen consoles also aim to be entertainment hubs

Both Sony and Microsoft have been talking a lot about the way their current generation of consoles is designed not only to play video games but to offer users access to a wider array of entertainment experiences as well, some of them created by the companies themselves.

Microsoft has recently closed down its own studio that was dedicated to original content and its biggest launch, Halo: Nightfall, was not especially well received, despite the fact that it tied into one of the most popular video game franchises of all time.

It will be interesting to see how Powers on the PlayStation 4 is received by the public and what other shows Sony plans to create and deliver to its users during the rest of 2015.
