Samsung introduced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in March at MWC 2015 during an impressive event, but some of us have also expected the tech giant to produce some more models derived from its latest flagship line.

The Galaxy S6 Active has already leaked a bunch of times, and the device will most likely go on sale at AT&T like the Galaxy S5 Active did before it. But how about a mini version of this year’s flagship?

As a recent listing in GFX Benchmark seems to suggest, a miniature version of Samsung’s latest top-tier phone might actually happen.

A new Samsung phone bearing model number SM-G9198 made an appearance today in the database and we have reason to believe this is the Samsung Galaxy S6 mini (as seen on Twitter).

Samsung Galaxy S6 mini anyone?

Take a look at its spec list. The phone comes with a 4.6-inch display with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution and draws life form a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor. The silicone piece is the same utilized by LG in its G4 flagship.

The unannounced Samsung phone bundles Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

On the imaging font, the SM-G9198 arrives with a 16MP main camera with 1080 video recording and a 5MP selfie snapper. The device runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, but with Android M in the pipeline, that sounds somehow less exciting.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember what the Galaxy S5 mini brought to the table and compare the two a little bit.

The phone arrived with a 4.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution (we have pretty much the same setup here).

The phone relied on a rudimentary Exynos 3 Quad 3470, but the Snapdragon 808 inside the current leaked phone is something else. Could it be that Samsung decided the Galaxy S6 mini is worthy of better hardware?

1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and an 8MP/2.1MP camera setup were also part of the spec list. Moreover, the phone took advantage of some high-end features like a fingerprint sensor and IP67 certification for being dust and waterproof.

All in all, the SM-G9198 might turn out to be another of Samsung’s long list of mid-range phones. Or maybe not.

Would you pick up a mini version of the Galaxy S6?
