Sony confirms that it's going to bring the PlayStation Now beta to the UK in the near future, allowing PS4 owners in the country to use the cloud streaming service and play great PS3 titles on the new home console. What's more, anyone can manifest their interest in this beta right now.

The PlayStation Now service surprised quite a lot of people when it was revealed last year, as Sony finally put to good use the cloud streaming technology it acquired alongside company Gaikai a few years ago.

Right now, people in North America can try out the streaming service on the PS4 and on a variety of other devices, like PS3, PS Vita, or Sony Bravia TVs, in order to play lots of classic PS3 games, in exchange for a monthly subscription or through other payment options.

PS Now is coming to the UK soon

Now, after a very long time, Sony confirms that it's expanding the PS Now service outside of North America, with the UK being the first country to benefit from this broadening of horizons.

According to the official website, PlayStation Now is going to launch soon, and ahead of this rollout, a special private beta will take place for select PS4 owners with a PlayStation Plus membership. If you have both these things, you can already manifest your interest in testing out PS Now in the UK.

"We’re giving selected PlayStation Plus members who own a PS4 the chance to be among the first to experience PS Now - and you could be one of the lucky participants. The UK private beta trial kicks off on PS4 soon and, for the initial stages3, it won’t cost you anything to take part, so register your interest now and you could be selected to be on the front line of a gaming revolution," Sony mentions.

The beta won't have any costs at first

The first part of the PS Now beta in the UK won't have any costs, meaning that participants will be able to access all the games free of charge. As time progresses, subscription and rental costs will be introduced.

The first titles covered in the PS Now beta are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us, God of War Ascension, Rayman Legends, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Saints Row: The Third, and Just Cause 2.

While the beta will be available at first only on PS4, Sony says that it has plans to bring PS Now to PS3, PS Vita, and select Sony Bravia TVs, just like in North America.
