One of the most heartbreaking moments in the “Harry Potter” universe (books and movies) is Professor Severus Snape’s death and his admission that he never really hated the kid wizard who bore such a strong resemblance to his mother, Severus’ first love, Lily Evans Potter.

“After all this time?” “Always,” is the brief exchange between Snape and Dumbledore in which the former admits he never stopped loving Harry Potter’s mother, for which reason he wanted to do whatever he could to protect Harry, even if that meant risking (or losing) his own life.

As it turns out, it was all a ruse. Professor Snape is not dead, because he’s working undercover as an airline gate agent for American Airlines, a Muggles flight company. He must have faked his death so he could retire and live the rest of his life away from all the Hogwarts drama.

The first photo proving this emerged online on Tumblr about 3 years ago, but it wasn’t until this month that American Airlines fessed up to it, as you can see from their Facebook post below. Yes, Snape is working for the Muggles now, and he’ll be happy to board you, whether you’re a wizard or a Muggle.

They don’t say anything about the plot to fake his death, so either it was carried out before he came to them or they don’t want to blow his cover completely.

For “Harry Potter” fans, knowing that the most misunderstood and noble character in this universe is alive and well is enough, I believe.
