PayPal is extending the compatibility of its PayPal Here mobile application to now include Android tablets. So far, the app was only available for owners of Android phones, but this is no longer the case.

Businesses will be able to accept credit cards, as well as debit cards, by using the app in concert with the PayPal Here dongle. Mobile payments via PayPal are also accepted if a customer has “checked in” via the consumer-friendly PayPal app.

On top of that, users will be able to manage their inventory, monitor sales, set discounts and taxes, all from the comfort of their Android tablet.

For the time being, the app has been shown to work with the following Android tablets: ASUS Nexus 7-inch 2013, ASUS Nexus 10, ASUS Transformer Pad TF303T, Samsung Galaxy Tab (2 with 7-inch and 10-inch models, 3 with 10-inch model, 4 with 7-inch and 10-inch model) and the entire TabPRO lineup, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Sony Xperia Z Tablet.

PayPal has rolled out the Android tablet-optimized app after being cued by the latest Gartner numbers, which show that 62% of the tablets sold last year were of the Android variety. The app is downloadable via the Google Play store.

PayPal is also reportedly working with Samsung to bring mobile payments to your wrist, by virtue of Sammy’s upcoming smartwatch model.
