Particulars, an arcade game with puzzle elements developed by SeeThrough Studios and published by Surprise Attack, has just landed on Steam for Linux.

The makers of Particulars have been praised by players for putting together a great game that combines a beautiful story with a simple and attractive gameplay. The developers have based their title on actual particle physics and it spans over 100 levels.

"Woven through the game is the story of Alison, a young physicist struggling to outrun her troubled past. Her journey through the subatomic world is drenched in memories (both good and bad), and will ultimately lead her to some powerful revelations. Taking control of a single quark, you must negotiate the fundamental forces of the universe. Other particles will push and pull at you - you'll always be on the brink of losing control and being dragged towards annihilation!" reads the Steam synopsis.

Players will also get a lot of useful and real information about each particle and sub-particle in the game, which is using the same model as the real world.

The system requirements for the title are pretty low and very few people won't be able to play it. Users will need at least Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, a 2GHz dual-core CPU, 2 GB of RAM, a video card with 512 MB of VRAM, and 300 MB of available space.

Particulars also comes with a 20% discount that ends on November 26.
