Apart from launching a new firmware update for its flagship GH4 shooter, Panasonic is also taking the opportunity to launch two new variations of its GM1 Micro Four Thirds camera.

The cameras will be made available in Blue and Brown and should make it to the market under the GM1S moniker, starting November 13. Apart from the fresh paint jobs, the devices bring forth a bunch of new functions which hopefully will make it worthwhile for you.

Since smartphone photography is getting more popular by the day, device manufacturers have increasingly started to focus on the mirrorless camera business.

The new Panasonic models are said to be able to deliver better image quality thanks to the improvements made to the 16MP Live MOS sensor and Venus image processing engine. The autofocus has received an upgrade as well.

Furthermore, the new cameras come with Snap Movie mode, which allows users to create short movies plus 22 Creative Control effects to enhance the photos taken.

Like the original model, the new GM1S come with built-in Wi-Fi, a 3-inch touchscreen and are capable of reaching a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000th of a second.

On the other hand, the camera is devoid of built-in image stabilization, viewfinder and a hot-shoe. For the time being, the models will go on sale in Japan.
