The new system software update rolls out next week

Sony has officially confirmed that PS4 system software update 2.0 is going to be released next week, on October 28, for the popular home console, bringing forth a huge suite of features and other such things.

The PS4 has been around for almost one whole year, and so far Sony has made sure to release quite a few different firmware updates for the actual console, so that new features and enhanced services are available for owners of the device.

For quite a few months, the company has been hyping up system software update 2.0, confirming that it includes a variety of features, from live themes to a USB music player, Share Play, and much more.

Now, the company has revealed on the official PlayStation Twitter account that PS4 firmware update 2.0, codenamed Masamune, will be available on October 28.

A screenshot showing a special live theme for the PS4 accompanies the confirmation, showing just how owners of the console can customize their interface.

Expect to hear more details about the new system software update for the PS4 in the following days, as Sony is sure to hype up its major features so that all owners prepare for the impending overhaul of their home console.

What's more, exact times for the firmware's launch should also be revealed in the near future.
