14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer EA Sports is announcing that its golfing simulation series is getting a new installment later in the year and that gamers will be guided through the game by Rory McIlroy, one of the most celebrated athletes currently competing on the PGA Tour, known for his technique and his influence on the sport.
At the moment, the experience is planned to arrive in June on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft and might also get a PC version.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will be powered by the Frostbite engine and that means it will offer more details for the courses and the characters than all other installments in the series.
EA Sports explains, "Outdoor environments are Frostbite 3’s specialty, making it the perfect fit for golf. The power of the engine allows us to include the little things to create denser environments. From pinecones to butterflies - the game feels more alive than ever before."
The new tech also means that loading times for the new golfing game are much lower, so it is easier for players to get through an entire course in a single sitting.
Frank Nobilo and Rich Lerner have been selected to deliver the commentary for Rory McIlroy PGA Tour and the developers are aiming to make the entire title more immersive than ever, with simple access to every aspect of the experience.
The new title will allow players to conquer the most realistic courses ever delivered by the series and to test their skills with a range of realistic scenarios.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is also getting a solid set of multiplayer options
Players will be able to take part in weekly, daily and hourly tournaments with other gamers from all over the world, with a solid leaderboard system to track progress.
The title will have unique swing mechanics and customizable gameplay styles and EA Sports is also planning to introduce 170 unique challenges via The Night Club, which will also feature over-the-top moments and fantasy courses.
