Lenovo will soon offer another ever-lasting handset

Yesterday we brought to your attention an interesting fact from the Lenovo garden. The Chinese device maker is looking to introduce an online-only smartphone brand, in the vein of Xiaomi's business model, which will reportedly be called the “Fancy Maker.”

But Lenovo is also working towards providing new mainstream handset models, which you won’t have to register for in order to be granted the “privilege” of acquiring one.

According to new information arriving to us via Gizmo China, Lenovo is prepping a handset that will boast a monster battery life.

The device maker is already known for the long battery life on its Yoga line of tablets (which revolves around a hefty 15 hours) and a bunch of handsets like the P780 and S860, but the company feels there is room for more.

Lenovo P70t will last you long hours

Like the Lenovo P780, the new P70t will rely on long battery life to impress. It will bundle one of the 4000mAh capacity, which in theory should last up to a whole 46 days!

The handset also bundles some pretty cutting-edge power-saving technology in order to make sure you never run out of juice.

For example, when you lock your device, it will automatically shut down all apps running in the background. The phone also has a charging current of 2000mAh, which means one can charge the phone 15 minutes and then be able to talk on the phone for 6 hours.

Also note, the chunky battery inside the Lenovo P70t can be swapped out.

You’re probably curious about what sort of specs we’re going to see onboard of the P70t. The smartphone will arrive with a 5-inch display boasting 1280 x 720 resolution and low power draw technology.

The P70t will take advantage of a 64-bit chip

The handset is powered by a 64-bit LTE chipset from MediaTek (which is also quite light on the battery) fitted with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage plus a microSD card.

Given the fact that long battery life is the focus here, Lenovo had to sacrifice a bit in the screen resolution department, but that’s the way things go. You can’t have it all.

The P70t also embeds a 13MP rear camera and 5MP frontal shooter. Lenovo is going to fit all these into a relatively tight 142 x 71.8 x 8.9 mm / 5.5 x 2.82 x 0.34 inches frame. And like with many phones coming out of good old China, the Lenovo P70t will bundle dual-SIM functionality.

Expect the handset to arrive in retail soon enough, in black and white coloring options. P70t has already showed up in TENAA (as seen at Odao), so get ready for it!
