Lenovo announced last month that it would launch a new mid-range Android smartphone in India, the A7000. The handset is already available for purchase in India for Rs 9,000 ($145 / €135) outright, but it's exclusive to Flipkart.

In fact, Lenovo A7000 is only selling in India through flash sales at Flipkart, which means that customers need to register for the sale and then hope that the retailer has enough units in stock for them.

The popularity of the A7000 is probably one of the reasons the Chinese company has decided to launch yet another mid-range smartphone in India.

The new Lenovo A6000 Plus is an improved version of the A6000 and is already up for grabs in India for Rs 7,000 ($112 / €105) off contract.

However, unlike the previous model, the A6000 Plus comes with a few enhancements such as the amount of memory.

Whereas Lenovo A6000 packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, the Plus version offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Sadly, it will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat OS

These improvements will most likely increase the price of the smartphones, though Lenovo has yet to announce how much the A6000 Plus will cost.

We don't even know when exactly the smartphone will hit shelves, but fonearena reports that it will be available in Black, Red, Yellow and White.

It's also worth mentioning that Lenovo A6000 Plus will be equipped with a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 401 processor and an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit.

In addition, the smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display and dual-SIM support. On the back, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

The A6000 Plus will be powered by a 2,300 mAh battery and will offer a wide range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The only downside seems to be the fact that it will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box, with Vibe UI on top.
