Well, there goes LeAnn Rimes’ dream of a career in reality television and her desire to set the record straight on all those rumors about her and husband Eddie Cibrian: People magazine confirms that their VH1 reality show, LeAnn & Eddie, is dead in the water after just one season.

The series got a delayed start and then, when it did premiere, it didn’t exactly leave a huge dent in terms of ratings. Aside from the fact that it generated even more gossip and more discussions about how “lame” LeAnn was for trying to save face by lying, when speaking the truth would have been a more elegant solution, the series barely registered with viewers.

As the finale of the first season neared, she and Eddie began talking about the possibility of having a baby, which, in turn, led to reports that she was trying to sell this storyline to producers, in the hope that it would get her a second season on TV.

It did not.

“LeAnn Rimes may be singing the blues about reality star dreams. Her VH1 reality show with husband Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn & Eddie, was canceled after an eight episode season,” the celebrity publication says. VH1 is yet to comment on this, but it’s probably safe to assume that the report is accurate.

LeAnn and Eddie wanted the show to be a means to make people see them for who they were, but hilariously, they set out to do that by faking stories and controversies. Then came the claim that the project wasn’t a reality show but more of a comedy inspired from their life, which made things even more confusing for whoever was watching.

Dare we say, good riddance to LeAnn & Eddie?
