14 DAY TRIAL // Before she met, fell in love with and married Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn Rimes was married to former backup dancer Dean Sheremet. In fact, when she met and fell in love with Eddie – and embarked on an affair with him – she was still married to Dean, just like Eddie was married to ex-wife Brandi Glanville.
The affair was discovered by a paparazzo and made public in one of the weeklies in 2009 – and the scandal was huge. LeAnn emerged from it as a nasty homewrecker and nothing she did afterwards helped change people’s perception of her this way.
Things aren’t going to get better either, InTouch Weekly claims.
Dean is out to get even
Sources close to Dean Sheremet, who has long moved to New York and switched careers by becoming a chef and getting away from the spotlight, tell the aforementioned publication that he is still bitter, even after all these years.
If rumors are true, he has every reason to be: LeAnn didn’t just cheat on him, she also treated him horribly after word of her affair got out in the media. It is believed that she denied cheating on him to the last minute, until photos proving she was a liar came out, which means that Dean found out about the affair the same way we did: in the media.
Once the cat was out of the bag, she continued to be very mean to Dean, almost literally kicking him out of the house and not deigning to offer him an explanation.
Well, Dean has found his window to get even, insiders reveal: he’s been in contact with several publishing houses and is now narrowing down offers to write his tell-all. Apparently, he’s getting paid a lot of money for it, too.
No confidentiality clause
The spy doesn’t say why Dean waited all these years before coming out with his story, or why he’s choosing to do it now, when he’s moved on with his life and is happily (re)married.
But they do say this: there is nothing blocking him from speaking out against his cheating ex, because when they drew up the divorce agreement, LeAnn didn’t make him sign a confidentiality agreement. She didn’t give him a penny either, but that’s another story.
“She treated Dean like garbage and privately never had any remorse. […] LeAnn has no control because she didn’t get Dean to sign a nondisclosure agreement after their split. But she was so cheap, she didn’t offer him a penny. Dean said no way. She was nasty and really took advantage of him,” the insider explains.
That last part makes it sound as if Dean is also bitter because he walked away from the marriage empty-handed, as if he felt he deserved compensation for being cheated on.
There’s also this to consider: rumors like this one, about Dean thinking of writing a tell-all to expose LeAnn for the horrible woman she was, have popped up online before, and nothing ever came out of them.
However mistreated Dean Sheremet might have been by LeAnn, he was always nothing short of the perfect gentleman in his relations to the media about the topic. That is to say, chances are this won’t change anytime soon.
