The update is delivered OTA (over the air), in stages

The only devices that received the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update are the Nexus 4 and 5 smartphone, Nexus 7 tablet, as well as Motorola Moto X (2014) Pure Edition.

None of the Google Play Edition devices got the update, although Google promised these special smartphones and tablets would always be among the first to receive a major OS upgrade.

When we thought the HTC One M7 and One M8 GPE would be the first to be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop last week, the Taiwanese company had to backtrack on its promise and delayed the update for this week.

Well, it looks like it's too late for HTC to claim the title for the first GPE devices to receive Lollipop, as LG G Pad 8.3 is already getting the upgrade as we speak.

According to XDA Developers forum member vtmike, Android 5.0 Lollipop is now rolling out to LG G Pad 8.3 GPE tablets. The update is delivered OTA (over the air), in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all devices.

However, vtmike has been kind enough to pull the update from cache and made it available for download, so those who want to flash it manually can check out the original thread for more details on how to do it.
