Will we see LG’s next flagship in a couple of months?

We've been telling you about LG’s upcoming flagship, the G4, for a while now, when information surfaced saying that the handset might be launched to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 because it will take advantage of the G Pen technology.

Anyway, since then CES 2015 took place and LG’s own CEO was heard saying that the company was heavily experimenting with the G4, because it plans to embed features other smartphones on the market don’t take advantage of.

While we wait on a possible date for when the handset will be unveiled, leaked information coming out of Greek website Tech Maniacs gives us a glimpse at the possible specifications of LG’s new smartphone.

LG G4 – another handset with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, or maybe not

As previous rumors used to indicate, the LG G4 is said to be taking advantage of the controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 platform.

The chip is plagued with overheating issues and apparently Qualcomm will be forced to delay it, thus impacting the launch dates of 2015’s most important flagships.

For example, Samsung is already rumored to be dropping the Snapdragon 810 for its Galaxy S6 handset. Well, not entirely but 90% of the flagship’s initial production will rely on Samny’s own Exynos chips.

So it’s very possible we might see LG say pass to the Snapdragon 810 too, especially since the company has its own NUCLUN in-house octa-core processor. However, the device maker's AP isn't fairing out so well.

The first handset taking advantage of this platform, the LG G3 Screen was found to be selling less than other smartphones, because of NUCLUN’s uninspiring performance.

The LG G4 won't boast 4GB of RAM like the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro

Going back to the initial report, the LG G4 was also found to boast 3GB of RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Apparently the handset can take 5,312 x 2,988 picture resolution, so it can be speculated that a 16MP frontal camera sits upfront, which constitutes an increase from the 13MP shooter the LG G3 takes advantage of.

The LG G4 will probably see the light of day in March at MWC in Barcelona.
