There are few exceptions, like Samsung and LG, for example, which launched Windows Phone handsets in the past and made them available worldwide.
Unfortunately, LG hasn't launched a Windows Phone handset in a long time and the South Korean company seems to avoid sharing any news on the matter.
The good news is that an LG Windows Phone handset spotted by AdDuplex late last year is now making a comeback at Global Certification Forum, which means that LG is likely to eventually release this device.
The so-called LG VW820 is a Windows Phone handset for US-based carrier Verizon Wireless, WMPoweruser reports. Since LG VW820 has already been certified by the GCF, we can expect the LG VW820 to arrive on the market.
Low-end phone with 4.7-inch display and LTE support
As expected, the VW820 is an affordable smartphone running Windows Phone, so don't think that you'll get your long-expected flagship device just yet.
The rumored specs of the LG VW820 include a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with an 854 x 480 pixels resolution and support for FDD-LTE 1900 (B2) / 1700 (B4) / 700 (B13) MHz, CDMA2000 1900 (BC1) / 800 (BC0) MHz networks.
As mentioned earlier, the LG VW820 is aimed at Verizon Wireless, but we don't rule out the launch of the smartphone at other carriers worldwide. So, there you have it, folks, LG is coming back into the Windows Phone market with an affordable handset.
Let's hope that the device will raise enough interest among customers to justify the launch of more LG Windows Phone handsets.
