Kristen Stewart is very popular on social media, but she claims that she's not an expert on the matter. Moreover, she says that she hates social media, probably because on many occasions, it was the platform where people expressed their frustration with the actress and her movies. After that, it's easy to understand why she would develop a reticence towards such websites.

Kristen is certainly not the only actress to claim ignorance and repugnance at the phenomenon that is social media. Several other celebrities have not only expressed their distaste for them, but also quit them altogether. In fact, George Clooney once said that being famous and social media was a dangerous combination.

Kristen hates social media but acknowledges its usefulness as she admits to secret Instagram account

The “Twilight” actress must have missed that memo, because in a recent interview with USA Today, she revealed that “I have a private Instagram so I can keep in touch with my friends because I'm always away. That's not social media. We have a shared photo stream.”

Notice that Stewart is keen to explain to the world that her secret Instagram account is not social media in the true sense of the word, but more of a sharing photos with your friends kind of thing. Little does she know that is, in fact, part of the whole social media phenomenon.

The interviewer asked her if she would ever join Twitter, to which she responded that “What would I tweet about? Who are you  to? What are you saying? Imagine sitting here right now and thinking, 'That's a good thing to say to the world?' I can't even understand it.”

A lot of Kristen's young friends, famous or not, would beg to differ, as Twitter is very popular among more and more people these days.

Kristen claims that she's also going to take up other creative avenues in the future

The actress also said in her interview that she's looking to take some time out from acting in the near future, to focus on other projects. She claims that she's been working non-stop for two years and she's looking forward to a break.

It seems that Kristen wants to focus on other artistic avenues and explore her creative energies. She has already directed a music video for one of her friends, she's tried her hand at poetry and there's also talk she's a painter.

Her “Twilight” co-star, Robert Pattinson, has also taken up secondary hobbies, but in his case, it was a musical effort, which he is still pursuing, with reports that he'll have an album out soon.

For Kristen, the creative energies are going to be focused on creating things “with [her] hands. Literally, I made that decision a few weeks ago.”

“I'm making a short film. I'm making a bunch of stuff. I don't know how I'll put it out. But I'm not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time,” Kristen said.
