Actress Kristen Stewart has moved past her days on “The Twilight Saga,” making considerable progress in terms of winning over critics with her acting, by starring in a series of solid indies. However, her goal isn’t to win an Oscar, but rather to achieve the independence to get into directing movies.

The actress spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the film “The Clouds of Sils Maria,” in which she plays a personal assistant to Juliette Binoche’s aging diva, and revealed that a golden Oscar was never in her dreams.

Instead, she wants to continue working as an actress, build a name for herself and earn enough credibility and respect so as to be allowed the chance to try her hand at directing as well.

Still, that doesn’t mean that she’s indifferent to winning, especially major ones. Just this year, she won Best Supporting Actress for the aforementioned role at the prestigious Cesar Awards, and she says hearing her name called out “blew [her] head off.”

You can actually tell that by her almost-rambling acceptance speech, embedded below.

Kristen Stewart might not base her career choices on her desire to win an Academy Award, but it could still happen: some critics believe that her latest showings, “Clouds” and “Still Alice,” show her true, Oscar-worthy potential.
