After months of stepping out of the public eye, Kate Middleton has finally made her first appearance as part of her royal duties. The Duchess of Cambridge has been left unable to take part in public appearances for a long time by the same extreme morning sickness that has plagued her in her first pregnancy as well.

This was the first time that the Duchess was seen in public ever since the announcement of her second pregnancy was made and Kate looked not worse considering her problems. Wearing an Alexander McQueen coat and Jane Taylor hat, Kate looked thin and had the smallest baby bump showing.

Kate steps out for the first time since the announcement of her second pregnancy, people expect a much bigger bump

According to the latest announcement from Kensington Palace, Kate is due to give birth in April, which means that she's roughly 14 weeks along. But if you take into consideration the fact that not even during her first pregnancy did she have a big baby bump showing until right up to the end, it makes sense that her bump wasn't bigger.

Of course, it should also be noted that the Duchess is rumored to be carrying twin girls this time, so a bigger baby bump could be a confirmation of those rumors.

Us Weekly reports that Kate and William made a public appearance in order to greet the President of Singapore and his wife Mary at the London's Royal Garden Hotel on Tuesday morning.

Kate managed to get through the whole official visit, even made jokes

She reportedly joked with the Singaporean president, “I've been looking forward to getting out of the house. It's a bit colder than when we last met,” she added with a smile.

Her acute morning sickness, known to doctors as hyperemisis gravidarium, is a condition that affects roughly 2% of pregnant women and it leads to bouts of vomiting that, if left untreated, can cause severe dehydration.

Kate has been under scrutiny from royal doctors so there was no real danger to her health, but the discomfort of extreme morning sickness has left her unable to attend to her duties. It was reported that, in a bid to ease her suffering, she moved into her parents' house where she had her mother and her nanny take care of Prince George while she was convalescing.

The Palace has confirmed she is still plagued by her bouts of morning sickness but that “her condition is steadily improving.”
