The KDE Community has just revealed that KDE Applications 15.04.2 has been released, making this the second maintenance version in the new branch.

While the KDE users are still getting used to the new way of doing things, the developers are pushing one update after another, whether it's for the desktop or the applications. Ever since the KDE project was split into Applications, Plasma, and Framework, the updates have been pouring it, and various distros have finally started to adopt the new components at a more rapid pace.

Even if KDE Applications 15.04.2 is just a maintenance upgrade, it doesn't mean that it's not a good idea to upgrade as soon as possible. It will take a while until this packages land in various repos, but it will happen.

KDE Applications 15.04.2 is all about the fixes

The previous update for KDE Applications landed in May, just a little more than a couple of weeks ago, and more than 30 bug fixes have been implemented. It might not sound like a great deal, but every change is important.

"Today KDE released the second stability update for KDE Applications 15.04. This release contains only bugfixes and translation updates, providing a safe and pleasant update for everyone. More than 30 recorded bugfixes include improvements to gwenview, kate, Kdenlive, kdepim, konsole, marble, kgpg, kig, ktp-call-ui and umbrello. This release also includes Long Term Support versions of Plasma Workspaces 4.11.20, KDE Development Platform 4.14.9 and the Kontact Suite 4.14.9," the devs said in the official announcement.

If you don't find the packages available in the repositories, you can always download the source from the official KDE website and compile it yourself, although that’s not really recommended unless you know what you're doing. It's a very complex piece of software, and it takes some expertise to install it manually.
