It's available until the Indiegogo campaign shuts down

The Jolla tablet made quite a splash a few weeks ago when it popped up on the Indiegogo website, seeking the necessary funding to send it off into mass production.

The creators of Jolla have dreams of building a completely independent and open-source tablet, but in order for this project to become reality, they have requested users’ help.

The charms of the Jolla tablet are pretty unmistakable so that’s probably why the crowdfunding goal has been easily reached and exceeded in a matter of a few hours.

You can now get a Jolla smartphone and tablet for a better price

And now that we're only 25 hours away from the campaign coming to an end, the Finnish team behind the Linux-based Jolla tablets is offering you a great deal.

Until the Indiegogo campaign is over, customers interested in Jolla products will be able to secure a Jolla Tablet and smartphone bundle for just $488 / €404.

This means you will be awarded a Jolla smartphone for $279 / €225 (with a $150 / €121 discount). You will be able to grab the smartphone right away as a Jolla Shop code for the handset will arrive in your inbox within 24 hours.

The combo is available for those who have already made a pledge for the tablet. All you’ll need to do is select the Combo Upgrade Perk and use the same email address you have used when placing the original order.

Sadly for people outside Europe, the combo pack is only destined for those living on the old continent, including Norway and Switzerland.

Sailfish OS is the best thing about the Jolla tab

Getting the Jolla smartphone ahead of the tablet will allow you to experience Sailfish OS, which is an independent operating system, so you can get an idea of what to expect with the tablet.

The OS emphasizes privacy, meaning that the OS doesn’t have any backdoors or other means for third parties to snoop on your personal activities.

Multitasking is another focus in Sailfish, as it shows all running apps on the device in a single view, allowing users to easily switch between active programs.

Anyway, if you’re wondering about the specs, the Jolla tablet has a 7.85-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel CPU fitted with 2GB of RAM and has two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP up in front) plus a 4300 mAh battery.

Even if you can get the Jolla smartphone now, you still have a few months to wait until the tablet comes along. The team expects the slate to start shipping out starting May 2015.
