We’ve already reported on Jolla’s successful Indiegogo campaign, which will see the Finnish company releasing its first tablet, but for those out of the loop here is a quick recap.

Last week, Finnish company Jolla kicked off a crowdfunding campaign seeking to raise enough money to launch its first ever slate, the Jolla Tablet.

Jolla was asking for $380,000 (€305.000), but the company with a very strong community was simply overwhelmed by the number of people who pledged to their project.

Suffice to say the Jolla Tablet project on Indiegogo was fully funded in a matter of hours and money continued to pour in until it recently broke the $1M (€805.000) milestone.

The Jolla Tablet is already a very solid product, but in order to make it even better, the folks behind the Finnish company decided to include some amazing stretch goals that should appeal to already existing funding members of the project, but also to those who weren’t sure if the slate is really worth it or not.

First of all, those who pledge now, can get the Jolla Tablet for only $209 (€168), but for those who want to purchase it when it gets released next year in May, the slate will cost $249 (€200).

So, what else is there to add to an already powerful tablet such as Jolla Tablet? Well, first of all, Jolla announced that if $1.5M (€1.2M) is raised by the end of the campaign, the table with come with a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

Two versions of the Jolla Tablet will be launched next year in May if enough money is raised

Currently, the tablet does not feature one and even if it comes with 32GB of internal memory by default, it would be even better to allow users to have more storage at their disposal.

Next in line is Split Screen function. This feature will allow Jolla Tablet users to work with two applications at the same time. The Split Screen feature is not yet part of the Sailfish OS, but it’s the most requested Jolla Tablet software feature by the community.

If $1.75M (€1.4M) is raised by December 9, then the Jolla Tablet owners will be able to take advantage of the Split Screen feature on their tablet.

Last but not least, if Jolla’s crowdfunding campaign reaches the impressive $2.5M milestone, the company promises to make a 3.5G version of the tablet, which will sell for only $30 (€25) more than the Wi-Fi only model.

That would be quite an achievement considering that most companies add around $100 (€80) for the 3G version over that Wi-Fi only variants.
