14 DAY TRIAL // Let's be honest with ourselves for a second here. When you first heard about the split between Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin, didn't you immediately think about Gwyneth Paltrow? The actress is known for having a firm grasp on Martin, and the tabloids have shown that it has extended past the expiration date on their marriage, thanks mainly to their children.
Today, the celebrity press is buzzing over the news that Martin and Lawrence, seen as one of the cutest couples in Hollywood, have split up after just four months of dating, out of which, most of it was made in secret.
At first, Jennifer and Chris were believed to have split because of hectic schedules and the pressure of fame
Some have decided that the split came because of the famous Jennifer Lawrence leaked photo scandal, but it's hard to believe that, since Martin came out after the scandal and seemed very supportive about the whole matter. In fact, few of us out there ever blamed Jennifer for the intimate leaked photos, proving in the process once again that she simply can do no wrong.
The other presumption was that Jennifer and Martin were simply just too famous and too busy and this ended up hurting their romance. From the one side, they were constantly swarmed by paparazzi hoping to get the money shot, and from the other side, they had their own careers to worry about, which often took them in different places.
Granted, Jennifer did attend a series of Coldplay concerts where she was seen in the front row, singing every lyrics to every song, and presumably Martin showed up at least once or twice on her movie set.
Insiders confirm that Jennifer got tired of competing with Gwyneth
But Hollywoodlife claims that the real reason Jennifer and Martin said goodbye was because of ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who made sure to butt into their romance.
One insider claims that “Jennifer just couldn’t compete and didn’t want to. Chris is clearly not over Gwyneth and his main priority is his kids. Jennifer really respects him, but she wants a man of her own. And Chris has been spending lots of time with Gwyneth and their kids lately. It was just a bit too much for Jen. She doesn’t want to be second to anyone. You can’t blame her.”
In hindsight, there were quite a few reports that Gwyneth insisted on Martin spending a generous amount of time with her and the children. He lives across the street from her, continued to go out for lunches with her, and even attended her birthday party, without Jennifer, of course.
It's no wonder then that JLaw felt threatened and like she was the third wheel. Martin and Paltrow had a much longer history, not to mention two children together. This means that the actress and the singer are going to be inexorably linked for several more years, until the kids are of legal age and move out of the house.
