14 DAY TRIAL // If you were counting on Jennifer Lawrence taking out her new man, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, on a red carpet anytime soon, you’re in for some disappointment because various glossies confirm that they are no longer a couple.
The two dated for roughly 4 months, with insiders claiming that it was either their busy schedules and increased media attention or Jennifer’s fear of things getting too serious that led to this untimely demise of the romance.
The split is definitive – all these unnamed insiders can agree on that, at the very least.
Things weren’t right from the start
Earlier reports claimed that Chris was smitten with Jennifer because she was the exact opposite of his soon-to-be-ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, from who he had consciously uncoupled earlier this year after 11 years of marriage.
The feeling was mutual, other insiders said at the time, with Jennifer finding in Chris a loving soul, a man with whom she had a lot in common and who seemed to promise to help her get over the heartbreak caused by the split from Nicholas Hoult.
In short, all signs pointed to this being a celebrity romance that had legs, and many celebrity pundits were already thrilled at the prospect of seeing them make their red carpet debut.
Sources are now saying for Us Weekly that things weren’t right from the start between these two, despite everything else written in the press to the contrary. Things got off to a “rocky” start and continued to be so, mostly because both are very busy with their careers right now.
So, after a while of trying to make it work, they decided that their schedules were too “insane” and a relationship at this point would be simply too “complicated,” so they parted ways as “friends.” They still have a lot of kind feelings for each other though, the tipster adds.
Too much of a complication for Lawrence
Meanwhile, a source tells People magazine that “Jen is the one who broke it off with Chris,” as in, the decision was entirely hers. The tipster doesn’t say what led her to it or why she would not give the romance a second try, but buzz online claims that she probably didn’t want the complication and the drama that will come with the increased media attention.
This November, Jennifer has “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” coming out, for which she’s already started doing promotion. In the weeks to come, the interest in her will double, as will her public appearances.
What with the naked photos leak of earlier this year and preparing for the barrage of questions coming her way, she probably didn’t want to provide more fuel for those representatives of the media (i.e. paparazzi) who don’t really shy away from asking embarrassing or inappropriate questions.
She probably also wants to focus on work more and fly under the radar for a change, both of which are things that a relationship with Chris Martin makes impossible.
