The new version of the 3DS LL that has been released earlier in the fall continues to perform very well on the Japanese market and has given enough of a boost to the handheld line to allow it to sit at the top of the hardware sales chart for yet another week.

The platform has managed to generate overall sales of 96,590 devices for the week that ended on October 26, which represents a solid decline when compared to the previous seven days, and even more worrying for Nintendo, it’s a smaller number than the device managed to generate during the same period one year ago.

The PlayStation Vita from Sony is second once more and has boosted its own sales to 13,025, coming from 9,391, according to Media Create quoted by NeoGAF, and there are signs that more gamers might consider picking one up during the Christmas sales period.

The PlayStation 4 continues to be the best placed home console in third place and has also seen a small increase in its own numbers, reaching 8,942.

The PS3 might be older but it continues to remain attractive to gamers and has delivered 5,138 units to its own fan base, which is more than the more recent Wii U from Nintendo, which is at the moment under the 5,000 mark.

Microsoft talked a lot about its hopes for the Japanese launch of the Xbox One, but the device has only managed to sell 613 units this week.

The market will probably continue to see a small decline in the coming weeks before getting another big boost towards the end of 2014.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate leads the software side of the chart

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, the title that Capcom delivered on the 3DS, continues to perform very well and has managed to deliver another 172,348 copies to fans, bringing the total very close to 2 million.

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2014 from Konami for the PS3 is a new entry in second place and has generated sales of 81,981 during its first week.

Last place on the podium belongs to The Evil Within on the PS3 from Bethesda, with 59,388 copies delivered to players.

The rest of the top ten includes: The Evil Within on the PS4, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2014 on the Vita, Tales of the World: Reve Unitia, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke, Super Hero Generation on the Vita and the same title on the PS3.
