Jason Statham has been doing action movies for 15 years, so when it comes to fight scenes, he’s the guy to go to for pointers. Statham, as you probably know, plays the villain in the latest installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Furious 7,” and he was on Jimmy Kimmel to promote it.

Kimmel, always curious in nature, wanted to know what actually happens on set when 2 or more actors are supposed to be shooting a fight scene. Statham jokes that all such scenes shown in slow-mo on the big screen require that all protagonists move at slower speeds. This is obviously not the case.

You can see this funny segment from the interview in the video below.

Kimmel manages to convince Statham to show him how to throw a movie punch, and he gets “punched” in slow motion. His idea is to have the footage sped up later for the viewers at home, so they would never know “what the hell went on.”

“Furious 7” also stars Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It’s been out in theaters since last night, Friday April 3, 2015.
