14 DAY TRIAL // Intel has made available new BIOS packages developed for some Next Unit Computing (NUC) and Desktop boards, which improve the compatible devices’ overall security level via new enhancements.
Specifically speaking, Intel has provided BIOS version 0127 targeted at the DB85FL desktop board, which implements new security improvements related to Technical Advisory 1001888, and adds a new “Suppress Alert Messages At Boot” setup item.
In addition to that, the DB85FL device also receives enhanced handling regarding the watchdog timer in password checking dialog.
Moving on, the producer updated another desktop board as well, namely the DQ87PG through BIOS 0149, which also adds Technical Advisory 1001888 security enhancements, modifies the watchdog timer warning message, and includes a new “Post Halt” feature.
As for the NUC devices, Intel has rolled out BIOS version 0054 compatible with its D33217CK, D33217GKE, and DCP847SKE boards, as well as with the DC3217BY, DC3217IYE, and DCCP847DYE kits.
When it comes to changes, the NUC-related update only adds support for Intel’s UEFI iSCSI new feature.
