Iggy Azalea fans are in for an unpleasant surprise today, as their favorite rapper has just pulled the plug on her 2015 planned tour, The Great Escape. It was initially supposed to kick off in April, but was then pushed back to the fall, amid talk that she was refusing to promote it.

It has been canceled altogether now, The Wrap reports: fans who had already purchased tickets have been informed in a mass email that refunds are available at the point of purchase. Iggy won’t be hitting the road until 2016, after she has released a new studio album, the message also says.

The Great Escape was plagued by reports of trouble from the start: as the kick-off date neared, Iggy was still not doing any interviews about it, thus refusing to bring more exposure to it. Considering that most venues she was booked to perform at had capacities of upwards of 18,000, this wasn’t an event she could rely on word of mouth to turn it into a success.

In March, news broke that Iggy was “increasingly unresponsive to her management and refuse[d] to engage in promotion,” “ha[d] become disengaged from her core team,” and “[would] not commit to press opportunities crucial in selling the massive effort.”

This translated into decreased interest in the tour, so organizers pushed it back. Things didn’t get better with Iggy afterwards, because she still didn’t make an effort to engage fans more and convince them to buy tickets for her shows.

Confirmation of the canceled tour also comes from the Australian rapper, who broke her Twitter self-imposed ban for it.
