Idris Elba has made quite the impression on the Hollywood crowd after starring in a series of blockbusters so that now his name is being attached to every major project coming out. Tall, handsome and mysterious, the British actor has the potential to bring people in movie theaters with his charisma, and that's why producers are calling him with offers.

The latest rumor is that Elba is now attached to the latest X-Men movie, called “Apocalypse,” which will directed again by Bryan Singer. The Wrap claims that Elba is wanted to play the bad guy, Apocalypse, the ancient and immortal mutant which is at the center of the whole movie.

Just recently, Idris Elba has been announced to have landed a role in the BBC One-produced two-part mini-series “Luther,” which means that he might not be available for shooting next year. This alone should constitute proof that the rumor is unfounded.

Let's also not forget that Idris Elba is being eyed for the role of Green Lantern, as there is currently a reboot being prepared after the Ryan Reynolds fiasco a couple of years ago. The actor seems keen to slip in the Green Lantern suit, after the role was rumored to have been presented to Denzel Washington.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is set to be released in the summer of 2016 and comes on the heels of “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” which was a box office hit.
