Two improvements that make the app more appealing

Hike Messenger is a decent competitor to more popular instant messengers like WhatsApp and BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). Developed by Hike, the application has lots of fans in India, but it's slowly getting traction in other countries as well.

Unlike other instant messenger apps available on the market, Hike allows users to send messages to contacts that are offline. The application sends the messages as an SMS, at no cost. When these offline contacts reply to them, Hike users will get the messages in the app.

With the latest update, Hike developers want to make the application more appealing to Windows Phone users. Since WhatsApp has so many issues on the Windows Phone platform, such as battery drainage, Hike Messenger has a chance to gain some market share.

The first improvement included in the latest update is the better load message times. According to developers, Hike users will be able to read their messages almost instantly.

“Have you ever experienced this? You receive a notification for a new hike message, you tap on it, hike opens, and then the waiting begins. Seconds seem like minutes. The messages don’t immediately show up inside hike.”

Seven new sticker packs are now available for download

“If you can relate to this, then this update is specially made for you! We are super happy to announce that the wait is now officially over! You have to experience it to believe it.”

Hike developers have also added 7 new sticker packs to celebrate the improvement mentioned earlier. The new sticker shop that the application will have in the future is over 75% complete, so the wait is almost over.

These are all changes included in the latest update for Hike Messenger for Windows Phones. If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Hike Messenger for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store.

Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
